Man In Black: The Noir Bedarte Stories

Noir Bedarte is a Necromancer, but with a heart of gold.  He helps the dead, raises them into undead and tries to hunt down their murderers.  He wanders the country working for a Dark Man, often selling serial killers for information about a woman he's been spending years searching for.
Noir Bedarte arrives at a Crossroads- he accepts a job to help a girl, but things don't go as well as he planned...
Noir, spending Christmas in Portland Oregon, gets nabbed by a Christmas spirit, which drags him into helping a local poltergeist out- except, other things get in the way...
Noir and Bert are stuck in Newport Oregon.  Noir takes up a job at a local inn, but local drowned ghosts ask him for help... except he can't understand a word they say...

Noir always saw the dead.  And he tried to listen to them.  This particular dead, though, made him cringe a bit.
Her floating in midair made him a bit queasy too.  She dripped ephemeral bits of saltwater from her hair.  It looked faded.  And her see-through ghostly skin also looked faded.  Like coat left to soak for too long.  Her teeth and eyes had a rusty look to them- like all the iron in her body had decided to collect there.  Reddish hues dripped at her pores.  She was covered in seaweed, her arms misshapen.  Dislocated.  They looked like someone took them out of the way.
The ghost had on torn and tattered street clothes, echoing her death by drowning.  He couldn't tell what color her eyes or hair had been.  And her face looked like it was coughing, sputtering up water.  She looked young, like a teenager.  Like she should've been in school or out on the beach with friends or something instead of being dead.

Noir Bedarte is a necromancer with a heart of gold- and he finds himself in Portland Oregon, to find a new serial killer called the Wolf- but Portland's own insane undead have plans of their own for him...
